Mental Health America has released their State of Mental Health in America 2023 and ranks Wisconsin #1 according to 15 mental health assessment and prevalence measures. 988, the mental health crisis version of 911, will go into effect Saturday, July 16, 2022.
In 2020, Congress came together to institute a similar phone line as 911 specifically for those in a suicidal or mental health crisis. Beginning July 16, 2022 call, text, or chat 988 and you will be directly connected to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline where you can talk to a trained mental health crisis worker whether you or you or someone else are having thoughts of suicide or is in a mental health emergency situation.

In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, MHA released a new report, The Strain of Caregiving: How Caregiver Involvement Reduces Distress and Conflict, which explores whether family caregivers feel involved in the care of their loved ones, if involvement has an effect on their levels of distress and conflict in providing care, and the hope they have for their loved one’s recovery.
