The weather has gotten colder and snow has begun to fall. For many of us, that first snowy day is the jumpstart to grabbing our favorite mug and enjoying something warm. Whether you are a tea, coffee, or hot cocoa drinker, this weather is perfect for warming up with a nice treat for ourselves.
On this #MindfulMonday, we explore getting ourselves off of autopilot and really enjoying the experience of preparing a mug of our favorite warm drink. When things become too routine we often rush through them without paying attention, but we can enjoy our tea, hot cocoa, or coffee with all of our senses- taking the time to really enjoy the process. Bringing our attention to these things, and other simple tasks, on purpose can help us train our minds to be more mindful in other areas of our lives as well. We start to be more aware of the things we do as we do them.
So the next time you reach for that mug, really pay attention to the whole process and engage with all five senses.
